The Executive Committee (“Board”) of the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP), a USA registered non-governmental organisation (NGO), has a duty to its membership and funders to manage its resources responsibly.
As IASP grows in strength, formal policies need to be confirmed and communicated to relevant Boards or teams. Concurrent Boards should review and approve these policies and thus a full background of organisational practice is included. IASP membership may have access to all policies through an initial communication process and then by request from CAO or directly from the website.
To achieve this, drafts policies are prepared for the Board’s consent. Procedures are prepared to underpin each policy that enables Central Administrative Office to follow the criteria.
Policies typically aim to prevent problems with financial management, nepotism, unfair work practices, discrimination and conflicts of interest.
