Professor Cécile Bardon

Cécile Bardon is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), Associate Director of CRISE and a researcher with the Chair on intellectual disability and behavioural disorder at UQAM. She received a PhD in Psychology in September 2014. Her thesis looked at the impact of train suicides and other serious railway incidents on railway employees in Canada. In 2014, she co-authored several scientific reports on this topic with Professor Mishara. Cécile Bardon is currently working as a co-researcher on two research projects involving various players in practice and community settings. The first project is funded by the Robert Sauvé Research Institute in Occupational Health and Safety (IRSST) and focuses on the evaluation of support practices following a critical railway incident in Canada. The second project, funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, seeks to better understand and assess the risk of suicide among individuals with an intellectual disability or who are on the autism spectrum. Knowledge transfer and application are important objectives for this researcher, who is involved in developing and facilitating various activities to disseminate and transfer knowledge in suicide prevention, as well as in modelling the application of knowledge with UQAM’s research chair on the application of knowledge among youth and families in difficulty.
