World Suicide Prevention Day 2022
We are now almost a month until World Suicide Prevention Day 2022. The theme for 2022 continues to be ‘Creating Hope Through Action’ as we hope to encourage and empower people to take action to further prevent suicide around the world.

Cycle Around the Globe Returns
Cycle Around the Globe returns for the ninth year running to raise awareness of suicide prevention. The free, virtual cycling event commences on World Suicide Prevention Day (10 September) and continues to World Mental Health Day (10 October).

As somebody who has been personally involved in the Western Pacific Region for the past year through IASP’s Regional Suicide Prevention Networks Programme, I was excited to hear about the experiences and issues related to surveillance of suicidal behaviour in the region.

After attending Tuesday’s pre-conference workshops, I was excited to attend day two of the official conference program. As someone identifying as a member of a priority population, I made a beeline for Keynote 3.

The first thing I noticed at the venue was lots of laughter and excited hugs at seeing friends in person again. I often overheard, “It’s great to finally meet in person” or “you are taller than you are on zoom!”
