Dr Angela Nicholas is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Mental Health and Community Wellbeing, Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, University of Melbourne. Angela is a suicide prevention researcher. She has a particular interest in suicide prevention for trans people, developing and testing media interventions for suicide prevention, and promoting good responses to people at risk of suicide from their family and friends. Angela is a Suicide Prevention Australia Postdoctoral Fellow. She has a PhD in suicide prevention from the University of Melbourne, and a Doctor of Health Psychology from La Trobe University. She is currently leading a project developing and testing social media videos with people with lived experience of suicide in which they tell their stories of recovery.
