Abstract Submission for Symposia, Workshops, Oral and Poster presentations for the 33rd World Congress in June 2025 is now open.
Important Dates:
    • Abstract Submissions Open 7 October 2024
    • Symposium & Workshop Abstract Submissions Close 3 February 2025

    • Abstract Review Notifications 24 March 2025  – 24 April 2025

The objectives of the congress are to enhance knowledge, promote collaboration, develop policy, address diversity and empower voices.  With this in mind, in addition to encouraging Early Career (ECR) and Lived Experience (LE) to submit an abstract, we also want to provide a platform at the congress that gives opportunity for ECR and LE co-designers to be included in the presentation. If your abstract relates to such research, please consider including them as a co-presenter, which you can do within the submission portal.

We also want to encourage abstracts relating to suicide prevention in low and middle-income countries (LMIC); diverse perspectives; that look at the history and future of suicide prevention; and research with potential adaptivity to the global stage.

Please note the above is not a prerequisite to your abstract being accepted.  All abstracts will be reviewed in full by the Scientific Committee and considered on their merit.

All Abstracts will be reviewed and given a weighted score based on:
  • Level of content
  • Excellence relevant to the field
  • Originality
  • Methodology
If submitting for Symposium presentations,
  • Ensure that you supply ALL related abstracts, authors and their affiliations and nominate a chair. Symposia abstracts should include an overall abstract/concept (200 words) and 5 presentation abstracts (400 words) each with one learning objective. If accepted, the time allowance will be a total of 90 minutes. This will be inclusive of Q&A.
  • The portal will provide you with a ‘theme’ selection.
  • The maximum total word count for your abstract submission is 2200. This is exclusive of the title, authors, and affiliations.
If submitting for Workshop presentations,
  • Ensure that you supply ALL related abstracts, authors and their affiliations and nominate 2 facilitators. Workshop abstracts should include 3 learning objectives, background and format/session plan.
